Minute by His Excellency the Officer Administering the Government.
I intended to have appointed this morning a Committee composed of the Acting Attorney-General, Captain Runnsey, and Mr Chater to enquire and report upon this outbreak in the Gaol, but I am informed that enquiry has already been held by the Acting Superintendent assisted by a Justice of the Peace (Mr. Wise). I will wait for the report of this enquiry before giving my orders.
Refer to Acting Attorney-General for his information. (signed) W. H. Marsh.
